STUDDING SERVICE GUIDELINES

Stud Service: How it Works

Select one of our stud males (“Kings”). We strictly follow the WCF-SFEPI guidelines for ethical and proper breeding. Only same-breed pairings are allowed, with the exception of approved out-crosses:

British Shorthairs May only be Bred with:

  • British Shorthairs
  • British Longhairs
  • Scottish Folds/Straights (approved out-cross)

All our Kings are healthy, well-socialized, and maintained with up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, and parasite control ensuring safety for both your Queen and future kittens.

Your queen will stay with us for approximately 4 to 7 days, starting from the first successful mating.

  • We treat every visiting queen with gentleness and care, as if she were our own.
  • We will provide daily updates during her stay.
  • Payment is settled upon pickup of your queen after her mating period.

When the queen starts rejecting the stud, it usually signals that mating is complete.

Around 30 days after mating, we recommend an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy.

  • If mating is unsuccessful, we offer one complimentary back-stud service.

Thank you for your interest in our stud service. Below are the terms and expectations to ensure a safe and successful experience for both the stud and your queen.

To ensure the health and safety of both cats and their environments, we kindly ask that your Queen meets the following before her stay:

Age & Condition

  • Must be in heat and at least 1 year old

Health & Veterinary Care

  • Fully vaccinated with up-to-date veterinary records
  • Dewormed and treated for internal parasites
  • Free from external parasites (e.g., fleas, mites, ticks)
  • In excellent health with no signs of viral or bacterial infections

Grooming & Hygiene

  • Well-groomed with trimmed nails

Food & Comfort

  • Please bring her usual food and treats, especially if she has a sensitive stomach or a vet-prescribed diet
  • We will also provide fresh water, clean litter box, and cat litter during her stay

Additional Requirements Prior to Your Visit

  • Provide a clear photo of your Queen
  • Submit a copy of her updated veterinary records

For pedigree purposes, we will submit the mating report to WCF-SFEPI. Litter registration and pedigree application will be your responsibility.

Let us know if you have any questions or if your queen is nearing her heat cycle. We’re happy to walk you through the next steps!
